Farmer in the Dell

I have been planting!! I got spicy basil, lemon basil, cilantro and thyme all potted and on the patio. I also have a few jalapinos and sweet banana peppers. Russ got a yellow rose to replace one that died. It is so hot out already. I guess that means our summer will be really bad! We really need the air on but I refuse to turn it on in March or April! We will have to sweat!!!
Tomorrow I want to get everything off the deck and get it scrub so I can paint on some new sealer. Once i get that done I can set some of my plants on it. My spider plant is still doing good! It was brought to Texas in a U Haul in December, 1979. I have repotted and separated it several times but it is still growing. And it hangs on the patio most of the year. Russ just sets all the plants around the patio table and covers them with old sheets in real cold weather.

Russ is going to get us some Texas barbeque for dinner. We'll get ribs, brisket and sausage plates plus beans and potato salad. It is really good and it makes it taste better by me not having to cook! Although I have been thinking of a mayonnaise cake for days. I just might have to bake one!

Russ and the boys are all in the recliner snoozing so think I'll just go read awhile! These old bones are tired!!! Have a good evening!!!

Still too cold here to plant. We did get the onion bulbs in the ground and the plants that wintered over in the garage out, with a homemade pvc and plastic green house put over them, so they can get used to being outside again.

Potatoes and garlic are on the way, so it better warm up!!
